Heavy Water

Two of the main reason for Germany to attack and occupy Norway april 9, 1940. Was Narvik (iron ore) and Rjukan (Vemork) production of Heavy Water. Rjukan, the only place, producing the "new" heavy water. Norway as a neighbor to SSU. Makes Norway a strategic country to besiege for the Axis. Therefor organisations like "Blutkreuz" was early at Rjukan. Not so much for a possible atomic bomb, but a agenda of there own(?)
